Jeannie Hayden, director of Treasure Valley Family YMCA’s Little Luke’s Early Learning Center, a childcare program that serves the staff of St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, Idaho, said that her small staff struggles to accommodate the childcare needs of the doctors, nurses and support personnel who work unpredictable schedules. “Due to the nature of their jobs, some leave early, and some stay late, making it important to stay on top of constantly changing scheduling, billing and staffing needs,” she said.
